Michael K. (SLI) about Meditative States and Nature

<…> I started practicing yoga and everything that comes with it—especially meditative states. I experienced those meditative states best in nature. I would enter a certain state where I felt united with nature. It’s hard to describe in words, but a moment comes... Usually, I’m me, you’re you, there’s the room, there’s the sun. But in that state, it’s like I no longer exist. I simply don’t exist. I’m alive, but it’s not the body—there’s no body. I am everything: the lake, the river, the air, the grass—I am all of it. You enter a state where even the feeling of coolness, the sensation of the earth—you feel it all. Everything flows into you, and at the same time, I have no body. I’m like a spirit that’s dissolved into all of it. I feel everything—literally with every fiber—smells, vibrations, warmth, cold—everything. It’s in nature where I can reach those states.”
