Anna M. (SEI) about Nature
I love reading fairy tales. In them, I immerse myself in a magical forest—so deep and mysterious.
I really love nature. I enjoy walking along snowy paths, where little lanterns glow in the blue spruces, and the snow is tinged brown. When I walk there, it feels like I'm in a fairy-tale dream. Any moment now, a little fox in a sarafan might step out from behind a tree. I really love the winter forest. I prefer winter. Summer is fast, dusty, noisy. But winter is calm—it’s a thick, flowing, magical state.
I truly love winter. I find joy in snowflakes, the moon, and lights in the darkness. I don’t like sunny summer days, when the sun beats down, people are everywhere, and dust is in the air. I like the dark time of day—the night. I enjoy walking when it’s already dark and nothing can be seen. That’s what I like. And even indoors, I prefer when the curtains are drawn and the light is soft—that’s my atmosphere, I feel like a fish in water. When the sun is shining and the curtains are open—I don’t like bright light. I’d rather sit in the dark, in dim light, alone with myself—that's when I feel good. But under the sun I feel like I’ve been thrown onto the shore, or like I’m on a frying pan, when the light is glaring from everywhere—I really don’t enjoy that.
