Nadezhda S. (2) (ILE) about monotonous work

I don’t like monotonous work. For example, my aunt knits. When I look at her—oh my! I feel this inner upheaval or something. I can just imagine myself sitting there, knitting the same thing meticulously every day… Horrifying!

Meticulous, tedious, and repetitive work—like preparing documentation, writing various reports, refining details, or “polishing” something that’s already done—doesn’t inspire me at all. It’s much easier for me to outline the main concept with a few clarifications and let someone more patient perfect it. I often postpone unpleasant tasks “for later,” so that I end up doing everything in a rush at the last moment.
